Kwabena is the Co-Founder and CTO of encoord Inc. as well as the Managing Director of encoord GmbH. He is an expert in energy systems modeling and software development. Kwabena is the inventor of SAInt, which he started developing in 2013 in his doctoral dissertation framework. He has published and presented several peer-reviewed articles at high-level international conferences and scientific journals.
Before co-founding encoord, he worked as a software consultant and gas pipeline system engineer for Liwacom GmbH. In this role, he trained and consulted Gas Transmission and Distribution System Operators, and national Gas System Regulators, on topics related to the planning and operation of natural gas pipeline networks using mathematical models and software applications.
Before working for Liwacom, he was a scientific researcher at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre. In this role, he researched security of energy supply in integrated natural gas and electricity transmission networks.
Kwabena holds a Ph.D. in Energy Systems from the University of Groningen, as well as a Master of Science (Dipl.-Ing.) in Mechanical Engineering and a Master in Business Administration (Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing.), both from RWTH Aachen University. He is a winner of the Springorum Medal, which RWTH Aachen University awards to students who graduate with distinction. He is also a former scholar of the Evangelisches Studienwerk e.V. Villigst, one of 13 organizations sponsoring highly talented students in Germany.
